Scenario: It’s time to discuss assignments for your team’s new initiative.

Default Option: Host a typical meeting where you list off what everyone is expected to do and by when and leave it up to everyone to remember and understand.

A HMMM Option: Design a drawing activity to accompany this meeting where you guide a discussion on what the goal of the project is and draw an image that can represent the finished project. Then as simply as possible break down the assignments each person is responsible for and capture it visually as it relates to the final project. Then have a conversation around due dates and who to notify when you’re done. Finally set up a time to discuss as a group again. At the end of this meeting send this visual to everyone. It should be clear what the expectations are and when due dates are and how it all tasks fit together. This visual will be so helpful because it guided the conversation, opened the floor for everyone’s input, and will be a helpful reference afterwards.
