Your Action Item: Block off 30 minutes in your calendar next week to play around with your meeting technology.

Find a buddy if possible that wants to test things out with you.

By setting aside time now to see what your platform is capable of and testing it prior to a meeting, you will feel more confident in using it during meetings. Tech companies have developed this capability for a reason!

Some tech I came across while playing:

  1. Zoom now has templated whiteboards, including a category for icebreakers and team building
  2. Microsoft Teams has a whiteboard function as well. You design and set it up prior to your meeting and then share and access it during the meeting
  3. Miro has even more templated whiteboards! Bonus: Drawify has collaborated with them to create templates with pre-loaded drawings in them (https://miro.com/miroverse/search/?client=1&term=drawify)

This is just a small example. If you can dream it, there’s probably a tool out there for it! Don’t settle for the same old, same old. It’s ok to have fun while working. Heck, Acey Holmes continually shouts from the rooftops that playing increases productivity at work!
