QUESTION: How can we engage more with our conference attendees? What simple things can we incorporate throughout the conference to connect with the attendees?
WHY: There are so many benefits to attending a conference. One benefit being the feeling of connection:
- Connection to others in and industry/field you are interested in.
- Connection to cutting edge new ideas and work.
- Connection to something greater.
As a conference planner, take a few moments to ask yourself how you can foster these connections and engage with those at the conference.
MAKE IT VISUAL: Here’s one idea: Have a live feedback board.
Prompt with one or two questions, provide stickies and pens, announce to attendees this is happening, and make it visible!
Pick questions you WANT to see live feedback on and that will ADD to the atmosphere and energy. Below is a sample of what I used for SCBWI-RMC Letters and Lines conference in 2023 and we’re bringing it back again for 2024!
