Scenario: You are only an hour into your three-hour meeting where your team is presenting options for a multi-department improvement. You can already feel people getting distracted and see their eyes on their second screen (most likely) reading emails.
Default Option: Take a break. Encourage everyone to stretch and get a refill of a beverage or take a bathroom break and pet the dog. This is a good option!
A HMMM Option: You could take it one step further and when they return, engage them with an interactive game: like https://doodlr.io (you can play the ad while everyone’s on break). This will bring people back into your meeting instead of half listening to what you are saying. One of the teams I trained found this game and started implementing it and shared it with me! I love that they found it and enjoyed it and wanted to pass it along 🙂
