Scenario: Time for your bi-weekly team meeting, again. 👩💻 Your team is now getting used to visuals 🖊 being used in the meeting and have been sharing more freely in the meetings.
Default Option: You think of another ice-breaker with visuals to run for the kick-off of the meeting. They typically only take ⌚5 to 10 minutes and set the tone for your meetings.
A HMMM Option: At the end of your last team meeting, you asked for a volunteer to design this week’s meeting kick-off. 🙋♂️By making the meeting activity a shared responsibility of those on the call, you are encouraging involvement and demonstrating you value their input. And bonus, you don’t have to think of what to do each and every time. 🤔
This week, the volunteer has designed an activity to hear from everyone about what’s been going on in their worlds 🌎 lately. This activity is asking “What Hats 🧢 Do You Wear?” with a specified time frame (this week, this month, etc.) and widening the question to include hats at work 🏢 and at home 🏡. What is shared will be captured with visuals and words. The benefits are:
– 🔬 Everyone on the Teams call will gain some insight to what others are going through.
– 💁♀️ During the exchange, people will feel like they are seen, heard, and matter.
– 🕵♀️ You’ll have a better understanding of capacity and learn more about those on your team.
